Dr. Usman Mahmood

Bio

Dr Usman Mahmood is an experienced Australian trained Kidney Specialist (Nephrologist). He graduated in 2006 and underwent post-graduate training in various public hospitals across Victoria, Northern Territory and Queensland and was awarded fellowship by Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Nephrology) in January 2017. He has a vast range of experience in different areas of Nephrology and General Medicine. He is passionate about health and wellbeing of his patients and provide holistic and high standard of care to his clients.

He has public appointments at Northern Health and Western Health. He has authored number of book chapters and has publications in various peer-review journals. He is a current Editor with Intech Open, world’s biggest publisher of open access books. Dr Mahmood loves to teach junior medical staff including residents and medical students and is an associate lecturer at the University of Melbourne. Dr Mahmood also look after peri-operative patients and holds a certificate in Perioperative Medicine from the Alfred Hospital. He regularly attends local and international conferences and has a certification in Clinical Nephropathology from the Harvard University, USA.
